In the rose garden there is a collection of various types of roses like Miniature Roses, Ramblers Roses, Hybrid Tea Roses, Yakimour, Polyanthas, Papagena, Floribunda and roses of unusual colours like green and black. The varieties of rose plants planted here were assembled from different parts the world. The garden is visited by thousands of tourists throughout the year and even in winter, when it is not the flowering season.

Dodabetta Peak is the hill-station in Ooty, Tamil Nadu. It is the highest point of the Nilgiri Hills. The Dodabetta peak is located at a distance of about 10 km away from Ooty, in the Nilgiri District. The Dodabetta Peak offers the full view of the Nilgiri Range, Chamundi Hills, and the town of Ooty. There is a Telescope House located at the top of the peak, this telescope house allows tourists to get a better view of the beautiful surroundings.  How to Reach?

By Car

The distance to Ooty from Coimbatore is about 80 km which is nearly a 2 hour drive. So, if you want to go travel Ooty by car you can take a taxi from coimbatore to ooty. So it is advisable to travel to Ooty taking a taxi from coimbatore to ooty. Ooty is also not so far from bangalore. The distance is about 273 km which takes approx 6 hours, you can also take a taxi from bangalore to ooty & enjoy the long drive.

By Train

The nearest railway station is Mettupalyam, which is 40 kilometers away from Ooty. There are trains from Chennai, Coimbatore, Mysore and Bangalore connecting to Mettupalyam. Some of the popular trains are Ooty Udagamandalam Passenger train, Mettupalyam Udagamandalam Passenger train, Mangalore Mail and Mangalore Express. After reaching the station you can hire a pre-paid taxi to reach up to the city safely.

By Air

The nearest airport to Ooty is at Coimbatore which is about 88km away from the city. There are several flight services from Coimbatore to Bangalore, Chennai and Mumbai.
